Pastor James and his family began serving as Bethel’s first full-time Pastor on the first Sunday of August 2012. Bro. James and his wife Susie have been married since 1999. They have three children: Lydia, Cameron, and Faith.

James grew up in a Christian home in Greenfield, Tennessee. After being a lost church member for several years, at the age of nineteen, James was born again. God soon began working in James’ heart about serving Him. A year later, James was led to begin serving in youth ministry. And after several years in youth ministry the Lord called James to the Gospel Ministry in the spring of 2006.

Before coming to serve at Bethel, Pastor James served as the bi-vocational Pastor of Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church in Greenfield, Tennessee, for almost six years. He also served as the bi-vocational youth minister of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Gleason, Tennessee, for over eight years. Beech Springs both licensed and ordained Pastor James in 2006.

Pastor James is a 1995 graduate of Greenfield High School. Upon graduation he attended the Tennessee Technology Center in McKenzie, Tennessee, where he studied Technology of Machine Tools. After a job offer, James entered the workforce and spent 16 years as a Machinist & Toolmaker. Pastor James is a 2014 graduate of Liberty University with an AA Degree in Religion and a 2015 graduate of Liberty University with a BS Degree in Religion, majoring in Biblical and Theological Studies. Pastor James enjoys doing a little hunting and fishing in his free time and is a firearm enthusiast.
